Ben serves as Supervising Editor for the Iowa Agribusiness Radio Network in Des Moines.
Recently, he began contributing stories to Agri-Pulse, the nation’s most trusted source for farm, food, and rural policy news; based in Washington, D.C.
Since working at IABN, Ben has had the opportunity to cover the Iowa Caucuses, interviewing presidential candidates including Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum. He has also interviewed Governor Terry Branstad multiple times.
Six months into Ben’s career as a farm broadcaster, he won the National Association of Farm Broadcaster’s coveted Doan Award for excellence in agriculture reporting. You can listen to his submitted story here.
Ben is an alumnus of Northwest Missouri State University where he majored in Mass Media with an emphasis in Multimedia Journalism. While at NWMSU, Ben worked for NPR affiliate KXCV/KRNW as a local Morning Edition anchor/host for three out of five years attending college.
Towards the end his college career, Ben’s radio features were distributed by Harvest Public Media and aired on KCUR-FM (Kansas City, MO), Radio America Network (syndicated in Washington, DC), KMA-FM (Shenandoah, IA), KXCV/KRNW-FM (Maryville, MO) and the Bearcat Radio Network which provides football and basketball coverage to six affiliate radio stations across northwest Missouri.
